Embroidery:
The group is embarked upon and is making progress with their own individual choice of project. With a little skill, some fabrics, a variety of threads and a good measure of enthusiasm a great deal may be attempted, even for the uninitiated beginner, resulting in an individual successful creational piece of work. If there is a willingness to experiment with embroidery in all its different aspects – that is with materials, threads and beads, design and technique – then a very exciting medium can be realised.
Your first two taster sessions are free.
Embroidery is a slow process and patience and perseverance need to be maintained to achieve a satisfying result. Embroidery using a domestic sewing machine has become popular. It often takes less time to accomplish a simple but effective pattern and texture using machine embroidery threads which are manufactured specially in a wide palette of colours to achieve a pleasing result.

Soft Furnishings:
Within this range are cushions, lamp shades, curtains, pelmets, stools, pouffes, small upholstered chairs, decorative boxes, embroidered rugs, hangings and pictures. Various methods of decorative techniques can be embarked upon, explored and experimented with such as quilting, patchwork, canvas work, surface embroidery, drawn thread work, cut-work, etc. Help can be given to any project which a member might like to embark upon.
The atmosphere within the group is a very sociable one and we enjoy a cup of tea or coffee during the afternoon – made in turns by the members.
