Meetings are held in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to join in to listen to and speak Italian whatever their level. Our objective is to help each other to communicate on topics of everyday interest and relevance rather than to seek to achieve linguistic perfection. We use varied source materials – audio, visual and written, such as YouTube videos, news items from websites, magazine articles – and each term will focus on a different e-book story. We are free flowing and democratic and open to any new ideas and topics for discussion.

The group is aimed at people who have studied some basic Italian in the past and who have some level of fluency (however basic) in speaking and understanding but may be rusty and/or just want to converse in this beautiful language.

Our objective is primarily to use Italian rather than English but we do have a 15-minute tea/coffee break where any language goes!

Deputy Co-ordinator
